Our Story
In 2023, Hudson's Duck Drop dropped 580 ducks and raised $6k for RMHC of Central Ohio. In 2024, we dropped 860 ducks and raised $10,750 for RMHC of Central Ohio. In our third year (2025), we dropped 1100 ducks and raised $18,500 for Ronald McDonald House Charities in Ohio.
Help us reach our goal of exceeding last year’s duck numbers and donation by adopting a duck for just $10. Prizes will be awarded for the top finishers.
Hudson’s Duck Drop serves as a powerful reminder that we are never truly alone in our grief. It is incredible to hear Hudson’s name spoken by so many - and to hear the stories of others and their experiences with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), while also helping those new to RMHC understand its importance to families like ours. It is truly a celebration of life and love.
If you aren’t familiar with our story, on July 24, 2018, we welcomed Hudson Lee Curren into this world. We were only able to celebrate one birthday with him before he passed away as a result of a mitochondrial disease on Aug. 31, 2019, but we know that his sweet laughter echoes through heaven as he watches us drop those ducks from the bridge and celebrate his life. During his illness, RMHC supported our family while Hudson was at Nationwide Children’s Hospital for many months.
We are so grateful for the memories created each year and the lasting impact on the lives of others through the funds raised for RMHC. Hudson’s legacy will live on through these acts of kindness.
